Deadly tennis

23/08/2018

For the past five weeks, about twenty students in years 4, 5 and 6 have been participating in the Deadly Tennis Program which is being held at Yarrabah State School after-school every Tuesday.  Coach Keiryn has been coaching the students on the skills needed to play the game, allowing these students to learn and have fun at the same time.

During this time, students have participated in weekly sessions and a weekend tournament in Gordonvale last weekend.  From these sessions, Coach Keiryn has selected four students to represent Yarrabah at the upcoming Indigenous Tennis Carnival to be held in Darwin from the 6th to the 9th of September.

The students who have been chosen are:

  • Ontayah Donovan
  • Dellaroy Fourmile
  • Elekana Murgha
  • ShaylisaMarrott-Tanner

A massive congratulations to these four students.  Your efforts to improve, attend all sessions and listen to your coach has been rewarded.  A huge thank you to all involved in allowing our students to have this incredible opportunity.  We look forward to hearing more about this amazing experience when these four students return from Darwin.
